Hamburg Presbyterian Church offers a wonderful volunteer based Youth Sunday School Program. Christian Education classes are held for all children ages 4 -18.

Beginning in September and running until May, our classes will follow the traditional School calendar, (off on Holidays), and meet Sunday mornings from 9:00am - 10:00am. Children can join our classes at any time.

No doubt, you are aware that there have been a lot of adjustments going on at Hamburg Presbyterian Church (HPC). Much effort has been put into planning for the fall for you and your children. With a few exceptions, programs, teachers and aides are in place. Also, we are happy to announce that we have hired Cindy Hardin as the Christian Education Coordinator

You know that I am always concerned about our faith and our mission. The church was founded to help us embrace, teach, and love people not only within the walls of the church, but especially, outside the walls of the church. Every church is a training ground for living a faith worth living. The training is always participatory.

It is the parent-teacher relationship that equips a child for the future. Your child's future depends on what she or he learns and from whom they learn. We, you and I, are given the task by God to be great teachers for our children, and we are not just to teach about our faith but also to demonstrate to our children that we have a faith worth having.

You are your child's primary teacher . As their parents, they learn more from you than anyone else. They already know how you feel about worship and education at HPC. They know how you express your personal faith issues, as well as your expectations regarding the church. That being said, it is still possible for you to enrich their learning even more.

Make participating in faith discovery a major priority. After all, the church and the faith it represents has both temporal and eternal consequences. Faith is not a temporary issue; rather it is an issue of lifelong learning with an eternal destination in mind. Secondly, participate by teaching or attending a church school class yourself. You'll be amazed how important what you learn is for living successfully on a daily basis. Finally, when you are on vacation, visit another church. Teach your children by showing them that the faith that you have needs both daily and weekly nurture all the time.

Our class structure is:

  • Pre K- Kindergarten
  • 1st & 2nd Grades
  • 3rd & 4th Grades
  • 5th & 6th Grades
  • Middle High
  • Senior High
Classes are offered in a Trimester format, which allows for new teachers to participate in the teaching of our youth every three months. We normally follow a strong Christian based curriculum packet that provides insightful learning with meaningful readings or activities.

Confirmation Classes are provided for 9th grade students. Our Confirmation classes are scheduled to meet regularly. Please contact the church for more information.

Sunday Morning School
Meets on Sunday Mornings from 9:00am - 10:00am between Services. Coordinated with Youth Sunday School so Parents can attend.

Adult Bible Study
A group paced, Bible Study Program. Meets on Thursday evenings during the school year from 7:30pm-8:30pm in the Youth Lounge.
